RMC Sport report that PSG central defender Presnel Kimpembe’s place at the World Cup is in major doubt, 24 hours ahead of Didier Deschamps announcing his squad for the tournament which kicks off later this month in Qatar.

Kimpembe has just 70 minutes of playing time since 10th September following an Achilles tendon injury. The player today sought to send a positive message to France staff, affirming that he felt good about his fitness levels – and that he felt ready to play in the World Cup.

He is due to return to 1st team training on Thursday with PSG – the 27-year-old is set to train away from the rest of the squad and get a first couple of touches. Kimpembe hopes to feature in the PSG squad to face Auxerre this weekend, as Christophe Galtier recently affirmed to the press.

France play Australia on 21st November before facing Tunisia and Australia as part of Group D.
