L’Équipe report this morning that Marseille will look to sign an attacking-minded player in January in the wake of Amine Harit’s likely long-term injury, with Atalanta’s Ruslan Malinovskyi once again on the list of targets.

Harit suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the win against Monaco on Sunday, ending his hopes of turning out for Morocco at the World Cup. There are doubts as to whether the attacking midfielder will be able to return to action before the end of the season.

With Gerson closing in on a return to Flamengo, an attacking recruit is now the priority. The club are not necessarily looking for an all-out number nine, who would not work in Igor Tudor’s system, but rather a signing who could play further back. Malinovskyi, who was a target last summer, is still on the list, but is not the only player being looked at by Director of Football Javier Ribalta.
