Batista has had a tremendous amount of success since leaving WWE in 2014. He has worked in many noteworthy action movies and landed a major role as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s widely-praised Guardians of the Galaxy film series. He recently appeared on Talk is Jericho with Chris Jericho to promote Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and he revealed that as much as he loves working in Hollywood, he still has a lot of love for pro wrestling. Remember that Batista did return to WWE full-time back during his brief 2014 stint.
When asked about a possible return to WWE, Batista revealed that he is open to the idea but under one circumstance: that he works a feud with Triple H. Big Dave said that he has spoken to both Triple H and Vince McMahon about the idea, but for whatever reason, neither one wants to go through with the idea. Batista stated the following during the interview: “I’ve asked for what I want. I’ll tell you and I’ve talked to Hunter about it and I’ve talked to Vince about it. I said I would come back and run a whole program with Hunter. That’s the only thing I’m interested in doing. They’re just not interested in it, you know?” Batista later said that this is the only feud that he would be willing to do because this is how he wants to retire from the industry.
Batista has been a very outspoken critic of the company in recent years, but you can tell that it comes from a place of passion. He has turned down multi-million dollar offers to compete for WWE at various points, Wrestlemania 32 for example, because he believes that this is the perfect way for him to end his wrestling career. When asked if he missed wrestling at all, Batista confessed: “There’s nothing like it, you know that. There’s just an adrenaline rush that goes along with it. What I don’t miss is the company, to be honest with you. I don’t miss WWE. I miss wrestling, I just don’t miss dealing with the company and its bullshit.”
