On Sunday’s post-WrestleMania edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer gave a few notes from WrestleMania weekend.
He said that Michael Hayes was in charge of the Undertaker-AJ Styles boneyard match, but that Paul Levesque also was heavily involved as well. As speculated, Jeremy Borash was involved as well. Borash and Matt Hardy were the minds behind the Final Deletion segments.
Meltzer said that for Sunday’s Firefly Funhouse segment between “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt and John Cena, both Bruce Prichard and Wyatt were the creative leads. However, He was told a lot of changes were made by Cena “for the better”.
He was unsure who helpd produce and put together the Edge-Randy Orton last man standing match.
Meltzer said that the finish for the Raw women’s champion Becky Lynch-Shayna Baszler match was designed to protect Baszler. Their feud isn’t over, but it doesn’t appear the two will keep it going. However, Meltzer said there is a future between the two.
For the first time ever, WrestleMania was taped at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, and presented over two nights this weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic. While tonight’s Raw has already been taped, it’s unknown how or where this Friday’s SmackDown show on Fox will be addressed.
