A bright future

European Voice’s studies fair gives students a chance to learn more about the EU institutions, and find a course that suits their needs.

Updated

The eurozone may be in crisis but academic interest in the EU is still flourishing. European Voice’s 13th EU Studies Fair, which takes place in Brussels on 10-11 February, aims to provide guidance for those looking to pursue post-graduate courses in EU studies (or the related subjects of law, economics, international relations and political science).

A two-day education and networking event bringing together prospective students and academic institutions, it attracts multilingual, ambitious students and young professionals who have an interest in further study and careers in these fields.

More than 50 universities from across Europe and beyond will be at the fair, presenting their post-graduate programmes.

The fair also gives students the opportunity to get information about trends on the European job market and receive advice on career options.

Since 2003, the European Personnel Selection Office has been a regular partner of the event, presenting career opportunities within EU institutions and selection procedures, and giving advice to students on how best to prepare for the qualifying concours.

Seminars

On 10 February, the day before the fair, students will get a chance to learn more about the EU institutions and take part in one of two seminars. There will be a choice of a seminar on the EU and international studies (‘The position of Europe in a changing world: facing a new neighbourhood’) and a seminar focusing on business and law (‘Comparing business environments in Europe, the US and Asia: the digital economy’).

Androulla Vassiliou, the European commissioner for education, culture, multilingualism and youth, will give the opening speech at the EU Studies Fair on 11 February. She will outline her vision for the future of EU educational programmes and present the European Commission’s initiatives in the field of education.

The fair also features two seminars: ‘What is European studies?’, hosted by UACES (the University Association for Contemporary European Studies); and ‘The European job market’, with the participation of the European Personnel Selection Office.
