Banana Republic, which is currently going through a transition since it
appointed Marissa Webb as creative director last April, is to showcase her
second collection for the brand during New York Fashion Week.
Due to take place on February 14 at 6pm, the showcase will mark Banana
Republic’s first time staging a presentation for its men’s and women’s
collections, and will see the brand joining other mass retailers including
J.Crew on the official schedule.
Webb will be a very busy designer during NYFW as on the following
Tuesday she will be showing the autumn/winter 2015 collection for her own
eponymous label.
The addition of high street retailers showcasing collections during
fashion week has become quite common in London, the likes of Whistles,
Joseph, River Island, and Hunter have all shown in recent seasons, as has
H&M in Paris.
