After 10 years of starring on one of the most popular shows on television, you'd expect Sofia Vergara to have a top-shelf beauty routine. But in a new interview with Who What Wear, Vergara reveals her favorite beauty products — and turns out, plenty of them are available in your local drugstore.
Aside from her natural humility, there's a dermatological reason why Vergara keeps things simple. As she explained to Who What Wear, she's developed rosacea as a result of spending so much time under the high-heat lamps on set.
"It's hard because I get really red, so I've realized that I've had to treat my skin like sensitive skin, where I didn't before," she explains. "I used to love products and would try anything." Now she stays away from rich moisturizers and oils, choosing lightweight products that won't irritate her skin. "Everything has that fucking word 'calming,'" she says.
Vergara's favorites include good ol' fashioned, reliable Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser ($14) and Cetaphil Liquid Makeup Remover ($11). She gets her daily sun protection from Supergoop sunscreen. "I try different ones all the time, because people recommend me stuff, especially in this business. But the basic stuff works best for me," she says.
Her one indulgence? Serum. Vergara's preferred Luzern serums run about $100 – $110 each.
When it comes to taking care of her skin, she offers the same tips that dermatologists have been preaching since the beginning to of time: Take your makeup off. Stay out of the sun. Drink water. And get some sleep.
"I mean, it's no mystery. The typical things that everyone has always told you to do for your skin — those things work," she says.
Judging by her glowing skin, we'd say she's right.
