Argan trees are green tall trees that can grow quite large, and naturally grow in large forests. The harvest of argan nuts for their oil has been an industry done in Morocco for centuries. Argan oil is a natural product derived from the kernels of the argan tree (Argania spinosa L.). This plant grows throughout Morocco, where the oil is very popular and has been in widespread use for generations. There it is used in cooking much like olive oil (for example as a bread dip).
