SAN LEANDRO, CA — A San Leandro man was arrested after allegedly biting a Stoneridge Shopping Center loss prevention officer on the shoulder, according to the Pleasanton Police Department.

On Monday at around 6:40 p.m., Pleasanton police responded to reports that Jesus Escamilla, 41, stole $2,186 in clothing from Macy’s, PPD spokesperson Teri Yan told Patch.

Loss prevention officers tried to detain Escamilla outside the store, which led to a brief altercation. One officer reported that Escamilla bit him on the shoulder, Yan said.

Escamilla was arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail. He is charged with battery, grand theft, receiving stolen property (motor vehicle), addict in possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, and carrying a loaded firearm in public, according to the Alameda County District Attorney.
