Speaking to the press following a highly underwhelming draw with newly promoted side Reims, Lyon boss Bruno Génésio explained his decision to take captain Nabil Fékir off at half-time.
“Nabil came off after a concern with his ankle, he received a knock. I don’t know if it is bad, we will see tomorrow (Saturday). It was difficult for him in the 1st half, there were a lot of players centrally. We speak a lot about Nabil, Memphis, but we have to speak about the team. You should not stigmatise Nabil or Memphis because we had more difficulties in terms of our play. I do not regret either my starting XI or my tactical system. We need to do a u-turn and win on Wednesday.”
