Our colleagues at Foot Mercato report that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have placed two names on their shortlist of note for this summer’s transfer window, after a rough few days which saw deals for André Silva (AC Milan) and Adama Soumaoro (Lille) fall through at the last minute.

The first player is Southampton full-back and Portuguese international Cedric Soares, who ASM will move for if one of Djibril Sidibé or Benjamin Henrichs leaves the club this summer.

The second, is Real Betis and Portuguese international midfielder William Carvalho, who manager Leonardo Jardim has been a great admirer of for some time.

However, talks with the La Liga side appear impossible, as the Andalusian outfit does not want to sell.
