Speaking in an interview with Nice-Matin, OGC Nice Sporting Director Julien Fournier was asked about the contract situation of 27-year-old Argentinian goalkeeper Walter Benitez, whose current deal expires in June.
“The discussions are ongoing. Walter is very attached to OGC Nice and we are also very attached to Walter. There is a common desire to find an agreement. It might seem curious, but it is a reality. It is normal and human that Walter wants to take advantage of the statute of a player who is out of contract. It is also quite logical for us, the club, to be reasonable with how we use our money… the situation is not closed.”
The player is being managed by Mino Raiola.
