LOS ANGELES, CA — A broken water main flooded a Westwood neighborhood forming the start of a sinkhole, authorities announced Tuesday.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was called to the 10400 block of Wilkins Avenue at about 10:30 p.m. Monday to deal with flooding from an 8-inch-wide cast iron pipe that burst and was gushing water, KTLA reported.

The damage began to form a sinkhole, according to the Los Angeles Water and Power Department. City crews spent the morning working to repair the damage, and drivers were advised to avoid the area.
