ENFIELD, CT — Steve Kaselouskas, a former town resident who has devoted his professional life to the Enfield Police Department for more than 35 years, will be the new deputy chief of the force.
Kaselouskas began pursuing his dream of a career in law enforcement at an early age, joining the Enfield Police Explorers in January 1987 at 13. Six years later, in January 1993, he was hired as a full-time patrol officer.
He was promoted to sergeant in Dec. 2001, and to lieutenant in April 2007. Upon the promotion of Fred Hall to deputy chief in May 2019, Kaselouskas moved up to the rank of captain.

Hall retired in June 2020, but the deputy chief position was left open, with Kaselouskas and Jeff Golden serving as captains.
“This promotion returns us to the structure of some time ago of one chief, one deputy chief and one captain,” Chief Alaric Fox said. “This structure allows for a more appropriate department chain of command, and it also creates a cleaner succession plan within the department for the long term.”

Kaselouskas holds an Associate of Science degree in criminal justice from Asnuntuck Community College, and Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in criminal justice from Westfield State University. He will attend the FBI National Academy in fall 2024.
“Captain Kaselouskas has served this community, with distinction, for the past thirty-seven years, beginning as an Enfield Police Explorer, a police auxiliary, and thereafter holding every sworn rank within the Enfield Police Department,” Fox said. “He has shown a tremendous commitment to both this town and this profession. Our community, and I personally, are so very fortunate to be able to secure his future town service.”
A ceremony recognizing Kaselouskas’ promotion will take place Friday at 1 p.m. at Enfield Town Hall. Members of the public are invited to attend.
