WWE also held a quarter one results conference call today, hosted by Executives Vince McMahon, George Barrios and Michelle Wilson, and during the call, WWE was asked once again about the women not performing at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia.

“We are respectful of the culture there but we also hope to be part of the change there”, said WWE Co-President Michelle Wilson, via PWInsider.com. Wilson added WWE is very proud of its female talent, and as much as the company believes in them, the company also has to respect the cultures of different countries. Wilson then pointed towards Sasha Banks vs Alexa Bliss as a groundbreaking match in U.A.E. and added WWE has a ten-year relationship with Saudi Arabia, so the company remains hopeful they can be part of the social changes taking place in the country.

In related news, Wilson, along with Vince McMahon, touted the success of WWE Greatest Royal Rumble and noted it was the most successful international event in WWE history. Wilson called the event in Jeddah a “successful start” to the new longterm relationship WWE has with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
