ISLIP, NY — Firefighters rescued a driver trapped in their vehicle during a two-car crash in Islip on Tuesday night, according to the Islip Fire Department.

A 911 call reported a motor vehicle crash involving a 2022 Porsche SUV and a 2019 Kia Sedan at the intersection of Main Street and Cedar Avenue in Islip around 9 p.m., Suffolk police told Patch.

Islip firefighters and the Exchange Ambulance of the Islips responded to the accident and found a 23-year-old woman driving the Kia trapped in the vehicle, officials said.

The crew of Rescue 3-4-14 utilized the HURST Jaws of Life rescue tool to remove the trapped driver who was then transported to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, officials said.

No other injuries were reported, police said.
