FARMINGDALE, NY — Work has begun on a Hampton Inn and Suites hotel in Farmingdale. A groundbreaking ceremony was held 1030 Broadhollow Road.

The targeted grand opening date of the hotel is July 2025, said Dorothy Roberts, vice president of hotel operations and development at Oxford Hospitality, USA.

The two-acre property will boast a hotel with 101 guest rooms with 16 suites.

“This hotel will be the newest Hampton Inn and Suites prototype from Hilton,” Roberts told Patch.

The suites will offer refrigerators, coffee makers and microwaves, and the hotel will serve complimentary breakfast every morning. There will be an outdoor space with fire pits, a meeting room with updated technology, a fitness center, an indoor pool and hot tub, and a spacious lobby with a fireplace and space to work and relax.

Roberts said Farmingdale was the right location for the Hampton Inn and Suites because of its “mix of businesses and demand generators,” including corporate, social, leisure, sports, education, healthcare, and entertainment spots. The hotel site will boast walkability to restaurants, movies and retail stores, as well as provide access to Broadhollow Road, the Long Island Expressway, and the Southern State and Northern State parkways.

The construction project is set to create more than 200 jobs, while the hotel is due to create 20 permanent jobs, plus related vendors, suppliers and service professionals, Roberts said. Hard costs of the construction work is anticipated to be approximately $17 million, she said.
