L’Équipe are reporting that Lyon board are not ruling out selling captain Nabil Fékir next month.
OL want the French international to sign a contract extension as soon as possible, but are not ruling out selling him next month if he refuses a new deal and a big offer is made.
Lyon’s position is fairly simple – they do not want their captain to have one year left on his deal when he reaches summer 2018. Either he extends now, or Lyon leave the door open to a January sale.
The price, as ever, would have to be right, with Lyon expected to demand €60m again in order to sell.
Fékir and his agent, Jean-Pierre Bernès have in the meantime had a big falling out and will shortly end their working relationship but are yet to formalise that and remain contractually bound to each other for the time being. This has massively complicated Lyon’s attempts to get the French World Cup winner to negotiate a new contract.
