On Friday, Angers manager Stéphane Moulin announced in a press conference that he would be stepping down from his position at the end of the current campaign, which will bring a 10-season long spell at the helm of Le SCO to a halt.
“I have decided to stop at the end of the season. I felt this season to be difficult and a challenge. I took my decision before the match vs Metz (March 3rd). I have been living with this choice for a little while. This will allow the club to calmly prepare for next season. This is my decision.”
Virtually his entire coaching staff will be leaving with him: his assistant Serge Le Dizet (56, at the club since 2011), the attacking coach Patrice Sauvaget (54, at the club since 2012) and the fitness coach Benoît Pickeu (brother of ex-club Director General Olivier Pickeu).
Only goalkeeping coach Arnault Lucas has yet to make a decision on his future.

Angers President Saïd Chabane had the following to say on the news: “I knew that one day this question would arise. We know what we are losing, we don’t know what we are gaining.”
L’Équipe report that Moulin’s future could lie in Normandy with ambitious Ligue 2 side SM Caen – Angers’ former Director General, Olivier Pickeu, is currently president there.
