WARMINSTER, PA —After the success of its inaugural holiday tree-lighting ceremony in December, the Warminster Township Parks and Recreation Department will be coming up with an encore.
It just might be at a different location than the Warminster Township Municipal Building. One supervisor even suggested maybe another day and time too.
Parks Director Jessica Fox unveiled a long list of activities her department anticipates delivering to residents at a recent township supervisors meeting.

The parks department plans on making another splash with its Rubber Duckie Regatta on May 19. This event is a parks department fundraiser in which Fox said “We dump ducks in the Neshaminy Creek and we chase them down the creek” for cash prizes.
The annual Memorial Day ceremony is in partnership once again with the Warminster VFW. John Gruber and company are back on board to organize the event, which includes a ceremony in front of the municipal building and a parade down Street Road.
There’s the annual golf outing at Five Ponds, another parks and recreation department fundraiser, on Friday, Sept. 20. That’s followed by a Touch A Truck event on Saturday, Sept. 28.
“These are all great events,” Supervisors Chairwoman Kathy Frescatore said.
“This sounds good to me. I think it’s wonderful,” Supervisors Vice Chairman Kenneth Hayes said. “The tree lighting was a nice event.”
Supervisor Janice Charlton, though, asked Fox whether the event could be either made later in the evening or on the weekend so more people could attend.
“We have some time to work on that,” Hayes said.
Township Manager Tom Scott also said the tree lighting could be held in December at the Warminster Township Library or Five Ponds Golf Course as alternate locations instead of the municipal buildings.
