CAMDEN, NJ — Days after a man was fatally shot in Camden, his ex-girlfriend was charged with murder, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office announced Monday.
Shanika Gideon’s charges stem from the death of Kyle Wilson, who officers found Wednesday evening on South 8th and Morgan Streets after he’d been shot, authorities said. Wilson, 35, of Mantua, was pronounced dead shortly after at Cooper University Hospital.
Gideon, 31, of Camden, was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree unlawful possession and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Members of the U.S. Marshals Service’s regional fugitive task force took her into custody Monday afternoon in Flemington, Hunterdon County.

She was remanded to the Camden County Jail. A detention hearing for Gideon will take place on a date to be determined at Superior Court in Camden.
