Andre Chase is back.
Chase made his return after the opening match of NXT, where Tiffany Stratton defeated Thea Hail to retain the NXT Women’s Championship. Hail had the match won with the kimura lock, but Drew Gulak and Charlie Dempsey at ringside distracted the referee, allowing Stratton to recover and score the win with a rollup. Dempsey and Gulak then turned on Hail and Duke Hudson, who was also at ringside. This brought out Chase, who cleared the ring.
After Chase lost to Bron Breakker at Spring Breakin’ 2023 back on April 25, he took a leave of absence from Chase U and NXT. In the time since, Duke Hudson had taken over as the head of Chase U. However, Gulak and Dempsey also started to appear in Chase U segments in recent weeks, seemingly attempting to take over the school.
Hail had won the opportunity to face Stratton for the title two weeks ago, winning a battle royal. In the weeks leading to the match, Hail had been seen training with Dempsey and Gulak, including teaching her the kimura lock.
