Former TNA World Heavyweight Championship Ethan Carter III has been granted an earlier release from his contract with Impact Wrestling, according to PWInsider.com.

EC3 will remain on television through March as he worked all four of this week’s television tapings so far. He took part in a “Feast or Fired” match at Saturday’s event, winning a briefcase that was revealed to contain a pink slip rather than a future championship opportunity.

In reality, EC3’s contract was set to expire later this summer, but he was granted an earlier release and worked his final date with the company on Saturday night. He will not appear on the next upcoming pay-per-view, Impact Redemption, which is set to air on April 22nd and will be headlined by Austin Aries vs. Alberto el Patron in a match for the Global Championship.
