The former world champion returned this Sunday as a part of the SummerSlam Kickoff panel, and made some waves while discussing the long rivalry between Daniel Bryan and The Miz. This feud has been brewing for eight years, ever since the A-Lister was controversially named as Bryan’s “Pro” on the original NXT reality series, but Booker T believes things actually got started long before that.
“David [Otunga] said something, that this thing started eight years ago. I think it started way before that. The one person I blame for this whole thing is JBL. JBL is the one guy, back in the day, who made The Miz dress out in the hallway. He always ridiculed him, always looked down upon him. Despite all that, The Miz came up. He made it. He made it on his own terms, and now he’s in that same place.”
Of course, The Miz being hazed during his early years with the company isn’t exactly new information – in fact, it’s something the 37-year-old Cleveland native has talked about numerous times in promos.
There have been numerous stories about the Must-See Superstar having to change in the hallways, and in an interview last year his old tag team partner John Morrison even claimed it was Chris Benoit who originally kicked Miz out of the locker room.
