December 8th was the last show that AAW will be running at the Knights of Columbus in LaSalle, Illinois. If the show they put on was one that they are going to hang their hat on….they certainly went out with a BANG.

The first show that I ever covered for ProWrestling.com, AAW Seize The Day, was a LaSalle Show, and a helluva show. We have made friends throughout our time there and experienced wrestling shows that that were much more than just shows, they were experiences and memories. It exposed us to new talents like Jake Something and Zachary Wentz, while delivering matches, title changes, and creating a new WOMEN’S championship, with the inaugural champion, Jessicka Havok.

I can only hope that we will see some LaSalle familiar faces migrate their way up to shows at Logan Square and 115 Bourbon Street in 2019 (come on, it’s only 90 minutes away!). Until then, I’ll keep pumping out the results from your favorite wrestlers from ALL of our favorite wrestling promotion, AAW. It’s been real LaSalle.

AAW LAST CALL
December 8th, 2018
Report By Doug Enriquez for ProWrestling.com

Before the show officially started, AAW owner Danny Daniels came out to thank the fans, letting them know that their time at the Knights of Columbus was not cut short by their own volition. They will continue to search the area for new venues and hopes they’ll be back.

AAW WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP: KYLIE RAE(c) vs. SAVANNA STONE

NEW AAW Women’s Champion, Kylie Rae, was all set to defend her championship for the first time since winning it last month in Chicago. Kylie had this new aura of confidence throughout the match, posing to the crowd throughout. The match started off fast paced, and Savanna took exception the champ’s confidence and would pose back mockingly when she got the upperhand.

Savanna was aggressive throughout and put on a sleeper for a long time, trying to choke out the champ. Fortunately, Kylie was able to escape and delivered a VERY nice German Suplex to come back. Savanna tried to roll up Kylie, but Kylie rolled through and delivered a brutal kick to the side of the head of Stone. Kylie ended up taking the match after delivering her new cross face, forcing Savanna to tap out.

Winner AND STILL AAW Women’s Champion: Kylie Rae!

STEPHEN WOLF & CONNOR BRAXTON vs. PACO & BRIAN BOZ

Boz is a legend for AAW, and while he’s making his entrance with PACO, Connor Braxton has to cut him off. The LaSalle knows Braxton very well, and he says that he’s been coming to LaSalle for a very long time…and he could not be happier that this is the final time. He says that LaSalle people don’t matter, and their opinions don’t matter. He sets down the mic and he and Wolf attack Boz & PACO from behind.

PACO and make their come back and throw Wolf & Braxton out of the ring. PACO delivers a Suicide dive and Boz impressively follows after. Most of the match was on the outside, followed by PACO taking the heat. Boz comes in with the hot tag and hits an awesome Pearl River Plunge to Stephen Wolf, and turns around to hit a sick piledriver on Braxton and he was pretty well out.

Match ended when Braxton tried to bring a chair into the ring, but Boz stopped him, slammed him, and set up for the PACO frog splash.

Winners: Boz & PACO

MANCE WARNER vs. SAMI CALLIHAN

I love JT Davidson. He adds a whole extra element to Sami Callihan and his entrance, and it’s just fun. Sami comes out through the crowd and he just starts throwing stuff into the ring, from chairs to FULL trash cans.

NO ONE makes an entrance like THE DRAW, @TheSamiCallihan @TheJTDavidson @AAWPro #AAWLastCall pic.twitter.com/4TKPg1Zz2U

Of course, Sami starts by spitting in his own hand and then extending it Mance’s direction. Mance goes tit for tat with Sami and proves he can be just as disgusting. He spits a huge loogie into his own hand, and the two shake hands.

The ACTUAL match starts and it quickly spills to the outside. They grab a steel sign that a fan brought and start using it to trade sickening shots to the head to each other with it. Sami gets the upperhand and the match goes further into the crowd. Sami grabs a steel chair and puts Warner against a wall and continuously throws the chair at Warner. The match finally made it back to the ring apron where the two fought, and Sami eventually delivers a brutal piledriver right on the ring apron. The crowd chants “ONE MORE TIME” and Sami picks Mance up and hits another.

Mance took a BEATING in this match, from a tombstone onto a propped up chair to another piledriver in the middle of the ring to give Sami the victory.

Winner: Sami Callihan

After the match, Sami cut a promo (which you can watch below) which was awesome. He put over the crowd, indie wrestling, and Mance, saying how Warner is the future of the independent scene.

Awesome promo by @TheSamiCallihan talking about #AAWLastCall in LaSalle, the quality of the talent how @ManceWarner is the next big thing in the independent scene! @AAWPro pic.twitter.com/Tfd8VHBapb

People always bitch when their favorite indy talent gets signed, & say the indies are going to die.

This happens every few years, and only benefits wrestling as a whole. It’s a cycle that gives new talent a chance to step up. @ManceWarner will be one of those talents in 2019.
