WWE has announced that John Cena “appears to have suffered an ankle injury” during last week’s RAW main event, where he pinned by Finn Balor in a Fatal 4-Way match that also included Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin. His status for the upcoming 30-Man Royal Rumble match is now considered “questionable”.
The injury appears to be a work of fiction, either to write Cena out of the Rumble match completely, or in attempt to create a bigger “surprise” when he does appear in the bout this Sunday in Phoenix. We may have an update on this situation later this evening following the go-home edition of Monday Night RAW.
