Former WWE Superstar Jake Hager has won his Bellator MMA debut via tap-out. Hager defeated J.W. Kiser in 2:09 of the first round.
Hager, who performed in WWE as Jack Swagger, has a background in amateur wrestling. He was an NCAA All-American for the University of Oklahoma in 2006. Hager went pro in 2006 and joined Vince McMahon’s company later, where he became the World heavyweight champion.

Hager’s most memorable run in WWE came when he worked with Zeb Colter. The Jack Swagger character was known as the “Real American” and began using “We the People” as his catchphrase. That catchphrase stuck and Hager continues to use it now.
He also used it after he won the fight against Kiser. In fact, Hager essentially utilized the same pro wrestling character he portrayed in WWE. Another part of his presentation was his entrance music, which was performed by none other than WWE Superstar R-Truth.
Hager has indeed embraced his pro wrestling persona. Whether or not all of this will eventually lead him back to WWE remains to be seen.
