In what was the most significant, and closest Monday night ratings race so far this year, a heavily criticized edition of Nitro on 9/11 scored the highest rating for the show in its regular opposed format since 1/10 and the closest margin between the two shows since 12/20. Nitro finished with a 3.20 rating (3.47 first hour; 2.93 second hour) and a 4.8 share. Raw did a 5.90 rating (5.36 first hour; 6.38 second hour) and an 8.9 share.

FRIDAY NEWS UPDATE
Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal, with neither championship at stake, is right now the planned main event for Survivor Series in Houston on 11/19.
UFC announced two more fights for the FOX special on 12/16 in Winnipeg, which will be Jose Aldo vs. Ricardo Lamas and Santiago Ponzinibbio vs. Mike Perry. Aldo defeated Lamas in 2014 when he was featherweight champion. Dana White officially said that the 12/16 fight with Rafael dos Anjos vs. Robbie Lawler will determine the new opponent for welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
UFC held a press conference today in Toronto with Michael Bisping and Georges St-Pierre to promote Madison Square Garden. Bisping accused GSP of doing steroids and of going on a vacation in the mountains to avoid testing. They then got heated after the press conference.
The CMLL Leyenda de Plata elimination match, which is traditionally among the best matches of the year for the promotion, main events Arena Mexico tonight. It should start between 10:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. Eastern. They’ve loaded the match up with good workers. It’s everyone tags in, does their big stuff and tags out. The rules are pinfall or submission eliminations, going until there are two men left. The final two will headline next Friday for the tournament championship.
A first-ever match with Matt Riddle vs. Minoru Suzuki takes place on the 11/10 Revolution Pro Wrestling show in Walthamstow, England.

The New Jersey Devils will host WWE Night at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ for their game with the Edmonton Oilers on 11/9. There will be WWE talent at the game.
Squared Circle Sirens reported that Madison Rayne has been training at the Performance Center. She is no longer with TNA as she was one of those let go due to cutbacks.

Jesse Taylor has been officially suspended for one year for an 8/22 out of competition positive test for Clomiphene. He will be eligible to return on September 13, 2018.

Rico Verhoeven, the best heavyweight kickboxer in the world, is to face Antonio Silva, who has never had a kickboxing match and has been knocked out far too many times of late in MMA fights.
