After leaving Ring of Honor a couple of years ago, Steve Corino was hired by WWE to work as a coach in the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. Several NXT Superstars and WWE competitors who have worked with Corino have spoken highly of him, and it appears that the company has rewarded him with a new job title. According to PWInsider, Corino was removed from his position as a PC coach weeks ago and has now begun booking live events for Raw and SmackDown. He’ll be taking the place of Jamie Noble as he works alongside with WWE Hall of Famer Michael Hayes and Joey Maloney. Corino had experience in this field during his time with NXT, but now he will be taking on much larger tasks.
Several members of the WWE roster were granted their releases earlier today. Although it has been reported in the past that the likes of Tye Dillinger and Hideo Itami had asked the company for their releases, not everybody who was let go today asked to be. Former Cruiserweight Champion TJP was among the names released from WWE today, but it was WWE’s decision to send him off. According to PWInsider, TJP did not ask company officials if he could leave today. TJP discussed his WWE run on Twitter shortly after the news was broken and spoke positively about the company. TJP has years of experience in the ring and has overcome devastating odds before, so hopefully, he’ll land somewhere soon.
Ring of Honor will be hosting their 17th anniversary show later on this year and it now boasts an incredibly stacked roster of performers. However, the promotion has confirmed that they will be receiving help from outside when it comes to hosting the event. ROH announced earlier today that Mega Ran will be on the show as the host. Mega Ran is a rapper and a longtime wrestling fan who previously appeared on SmackDown for a rap battle segment between The New Day and The Usos. In addition to hosting the show, Mega Ran will be performing a song titled “Going to the Garden.” It will be interesting to see how he does in the role during ROH’s 17th anniversary show which will air live on March 15th.
