Nearly two months after Impact Wrestling terminated their relationship with him, Eli Drake is officially a free agent.

Drake announced the news via a statement he posted on Twitter today. Drake also tweeted the email address “[email protected].”

“After 4 years with Impact Wrestling, some ups, some downs, I would like to thank them for the overall great experience,” Drake wrote. “Through those years, I had the fortune of carrying 3 different title belts, having my own talk show (Fact of Life), and was always given the trust to craft my own promos, virtually from day 1. I appreciate the chance that was taken on me and the trust I was given, as well as the friends and experiences I gained along the way. I wish Impact Wrestling nothing but continued success and growth going forward

“Today, I am OFFICIALLY a FREE AGENT”

Impact announced on April 7 that they had terminated their relationship with Drake. His contract with the company was set to expire on May 31 of this year.

Drake last wrestled for Impact at their television tapings in Windsor, Ontario, Canada in March.

Impact originally announced Drake vs. Tessa Blanchard for their United We Stand show during WrestleMania week. Though Drake noted that he had amazing respect for Impact and Blanchard and called her likely the greatest female talent in wrestling today, Drake responded to the match announcement by tweeting that he wouldn’t be participating in a one-on-one intergender match.
