EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Seven members of the St. Olaf College wrestling team competed at the Don Parker Open at UW-Eau Claire’s McPhee Center on Saturday.
In the 133-pound gold bracket, junior Luke Wallace dropped both his matches by fall to Tyler Difiore of Luther at 2:04 and Ryan Smales of Nebraska Wesleyan at 5:24.
Sophomore Matthew Hallahan went down by fall to Nebraska Wesleyan’ss Jaden Duran at 2:31 and UW-Eau Claire’s Kyle Eberle at 4:19 in the 141-pound gold bracket.
Junior Bryant Ridgway and first years Joaquin Montero and Adam Bass all competed in the 157-pound gold bracket. After a first-round bye, Bass lost by tech fall (18-0) to Adam Jaeger of Concordia (Minn.), while Montero lost by fall to Augsburg’s Michael Abeyta in his first match, setting up a matchup between Bass and Montero in the consolation round, which Bass won by fall at 2:25.
Bass went on be pinned by Teagen Miller of Luther at 1:15 in the next consolation round. After a bye, Ridgway dropped an 11-2 major decision to Alexander Skarre of Concordia (Minn.) and an 11-7 decision to Rochester Community & Technical College’s Alex Lloyd in the consolation bracket.
In the 174-pound gold bracket, Partev Galstyan was pinned by UW-Whitewater’s Nate Moldzik at 0:20 and Luther’s Noel Banuelos at 0:35 in his two matches after an opening-round bye.
First year Zhanat Seitkuzhin dropped his two matches by fall to Jonathan Zarnke of Augsburg at 0:28 and Blake Johnson of UW-Stevens Point at 0:44 in the 184-pound gold bracket.

St. Olaf returns to Eau Claire, Wis. for the NCAA Division III Upper Midwest Regional Championships on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
