Jack Swagger accomplished a lot during his run with WWE, but he quit the company a couple of years ago to pursue other interests. Swagger has wrestled for a few other wrestling promotions such as Lucha Underground, but the former World Heavyweight Champion has also been transitioning into an MMA career as of late. Swagger competed in his first fight for Bellator MMA back in January of this year. He scored a win over fight J.W. Kiser at the Bellator 214 event, but it was announced earlier in the week that Swagger would be taking part in his second fight for the MMA promotion. Fortunately for the former member of the WWE roster, he was able to win the fight and earn another impressive victory for himself.

During last night’s Bellator 221 event, Swagger (now competing under his real name Jake Hager) was able to defeat T.J. Jones in decisive fashion. Swagger was able to get the win via submission in just under three minutes. This brings Swagger’s MMA record up to 2-0, and both of those wins were earned via submission victories. Bellator has faced some criticism from some fans who believe that the promotion has been giving Swagger easy opponents to fight, but perhaps last night’s victory will be enough to score him another fight against a more experienced competitor. There’s no word on when Swagger will be back in the octagon again yet, but he has said before that he still has major goals for for his MMA career.

A member of the NXT roster has just confirmed that he is officially gone from WWE. Nasser Alruwayeh revealed on social media that he asked for his release after all and that the company granted him his request. Alruwayeh was a member of NXT who had been training in the WWE Performance Center. It was reported online last month that Alruwayeh and his wife, fellow PC recruit Shadia Bseiso, were both let go from the company. Alruwayeh said that the reason why he chose to leave WWE is because he has dreams to pursue a competitive crossfit career. Alruwayeh and Bseiso were signed to WWE in 2017 after impressing WWE officials during a tryout session in Kuwait, but their time in NXT has come to an end for now.

Hi everyone, I asked for my release from WWE so I can pursue my goals in Crossfit. The past 1.5 years with WWE were incredible. Thank you to my family, friends and fans for all your support. See you on the podium!
