NEW YORK — Fox News anchor Bret Baier, a graduate of Brookhaven’s Marist School and a former Dunwoody, GA, resident, was in a car accident on Monday with his wife and family in Montana. According to a statement released from Baier, the major accident happened after a weekend of skiing, while they were driving to the airport on Monday morning in icy conditions.

“Thanks to a man driving by named Zach who stopped and helped, we were able to climb out of the flipped car,” Baier said. “And thanks to the first responders and Montana Highway Patrol – we made it to the hospital quickly.

“We are very grateful to all of those who helped us out. My advice to everyone is to always wear your seatbelt and to count your blessings everyday.”

Baier currently serves as FOX News Channel’s chief political anchor and anchor of “Special Report with Bret Baier,” the top-rated cable news program in its time slot and consistently one of the top five shows in cable news. Based in Washington, D.C., Baier joined the network in 1998 as the first reporter in the Atlanta bureau.

He graduated from Marist in 1988.
