HOUSTON — The Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston released the names of clergy members they say were credibly accused of sexual abuse or misconduct.
The list, which dates back to 1950 and names 42 clergy who were assigned to Houston area Catholic churches, includes two who face criminal charges.
“The Bishops of Texas have decided to release the names of these priests at this time because it is right and just and to offer healing and hope to those who have suffered. On behalf of all who have failed in this regard, I offer my sincerest apology. Our Church has been lacerated by this wound and we must take action to heal it…,” Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, who leads the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, said in a statement.

Of those on this list, 19 of the accused are deceased.
