A hat attributed to legendary French general Napoleon Bonaparte which he supposedly dropped on the battlefield of Waterloo In 1815 against the combined armies of Britain and Prussia has now bee auctioned for $ 400,000.
The hat – one of Napolean’s black felt bicorns – was sold at an auction in the central French city of Lyon for 350,000 euros, which included fees far beyond the presale estimate of 30,000 to 40,000 euros.
