A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan, who had come on leave to his native village Pandethika in Bihar’s Jamui district was shot dead by Maoists, on Monday, after dragging him out of his residence. Police identified the jawan as Sikander Yadav from the SSB’s 48th battalion based in Bihar’s Madhubani district.

On Tuesday, SHO (Barahat) Sunil Kumar said, “Sikander was killed while he and his family were celebrating his daughter’s fourth birthday.”
