Just a few weeks after a government helpline had to be suspended because it had started getting lewd calls for sexual services, the government has directed Internet Service Providers to block as many as 827 websites.
The Press Trust Of India reported that these websites displayed pornographic content following which the Uttarakhand High Court delivered its order. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), however, discovered that 30 of the portals were free of any expletive content.

Following this discovery, MEITY asked the Department Of Telecom (DOT) to block 827 websites as mentioned in the list.
